Mingalabar! Warm welcome to Myanmar. You will be met by your guide at Yangon airport and transferred to your hotel for freshening up. Formerly known as Rangoon, or the garden city of the east, Yangon is the thriving economic heart of the nation and epicenter of transforming Myanmar. Yangon’s city center is blessed with many fine colonial-era buildings and an exotic mix of spiritual heritage. The colorful and vibrant street life makes Yangon one of the most fascinating cities in Asia.

Morning transfer to outskirts of Yangon where we start the approx 200km ride to Kyaiktiyo. (Riding motorcycles in Yangon downtown is not allowed.) Our first stop will be at memorial of fallen Allied troops during the WWII and a nat tree where we will follow the local custom of getting a blessing from a tree spirit for safe drive. Next we will arrive to Bago one of the old Mon kingdoms. Original palaces have been destroyed during the past centuries but gigantic stupas and pagodas remain and a snake temple. Where a Burmese python is worshipped and believed to be incarnation of revered monk. Our ride continues to Kyaikhto, junction town by hill range leading to sacred golden rock which balances on the edge of mountain ridge. In order to visit the rock we will hop on a truck with local pilgrims for the ride up and return back down to base camp for the night.

Early morning is great time for a walk and photography. After breakfast we get back on bikes and continue with a ride to Thaton another Mon kingdom where majestic stupa marks the city centre. From Thaton we continue to scenic Mawlamyine the first capital of British Burma located by the Salween River delta. This is where young Rudyard Kipling penned his famous poem watching ladies passing “by the old pagoda on the hill”. Mawlamyine is capital of Mon state and has large Indian population and relaxed paced vibe.

Big day head and early start. We ride through market streets of Mawlamyine and then head south towards Dawei. On the way we’ll explore the enormous reclining Buddha “Win Sein Ta Ya” in Mudon and the terminus of infamous death railway in Thanbuzayat. We’ll pass through rubber plantation and farming region and arrive to Dawei late afternoon or early evening. Time permitting we may take a smaller rural road to Dawei and stopping for a refreshing swim along the way.

Good morning Dawei! We’ll do a morning warm up ride approx. 12miles to Maungmagan beach and San Maria bay north of Dawei. And continue to Dawei peninsula which has some of the finest beaches in all Myanmar. We will take a small motorcycle trail to Paradise Beach where we spend the night in the only resort of the beach. Spend rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the nature around.

Morning visit local market and back on the saddle and course headed to Hpa An. Hpa-an is capital of Kayin state and gateway to Thailand. Myanmar’s best kick boxers come from here. We will surely join a match or training session if there are any this evening.
Hpa-An is situated on the banks of Thanlwin (Salween) River in a region with magnificent limestone mountains and caves. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular from the Taung Wine mountain top. Those who are up for the 45min hike up steep hill will be rewarded with breath taking views.

This day is dedicated to Hpa An explorations. First we ride to picturesque Kyauk Kalat, a standalone rock islet in the middle of a small lake; the Lumbini Garden with the majestic Zwekabin mountain as its backdrop; and the Saddar Cave, the most impressive limestone cave in the region, passing through an entire limestone mountain range and opening up to small lake and fields. We will take a short boat ride here if the water level is high enough. If you are feeling fit for the challenge hiking up some steps to a nice hill top for amazing sunset views over the paddy fields, Salween river and limestone karst topography.

Wake up early for lovely sunrise views and a quiet morning stroll. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we back ride to Bago. Bago, formerly Pegu, is a city and the capital of Bago Region in Myanmar (Burma). It is located 50 miles (80 km) north-east of Yangon. We take a back road from Hpa-an to Bago this time and make some stops along the way to check out local highlights.
