This journey of different landscapes and climates kicks off in Mandalay. We first head south to legendary heritage gem Bagan to explore its’ famous temples, then ride up to beautiful Chin Hills to explore minority villages and Chin ladies unique facial tattooing tradition. From the cool Chin hills we head to warm waters of west coast and Myanmar’s premier beach destination Ngapali. Looping back via another ancient royal capital Pyay we’ll stop by marvel at Myanmar’s new capital city Naypyitaw and ride on some of the coolest roads to picture perfect Inle Lake valley, an oasis sandwiched between two mountain ranges.

Head off old road to Bagan passing Tada Oo and Myingan. This is pleasant ride passing through farming villages on roads with light traffic. The drive to Bagan takes around 5 hours and we break the journey with lunch at Myingan town. Arrive to Bagan in the afternoon. Foreigners are not allowed to drive motorbikes in Bagan so we’ll change to e-bikes or car and climb up to temple terrace to witness sunset.

Wake up early morning have breakfast at your hotel and we start head to check some nice temple around. Then, ready to ride Mindat. First we cross the river by ferry from Bagan and drive around five hours with motorbikes to Mindat , small town located on mountain ridge in Chin state. The road condition has improved greatly during the recent years. The terrain is very flat until reaching Chin state where hills grow to mountains.

After breakfast we drive down to deep valley and take long snaking road up passing through many Chin villages. This is very good area for photography and many of the ladies here have facial tattoos. Our drive is going up some more until long traverse on single track forest road passing Aye Village. As we get closer to Mt Victoria the forest gets denser and you will be on a little road in the jungle until emerging to new road end at the foot of Mt Victoria. It is 3miles from here to the summit and the trail to the top is ideal for motorcycles. After some summit shots we drive down to our hotel.

Early departure and long driving day to Ann town which is located between Mrauk U and Mt Vic.
Ann has considerable military base so you might have a chance to knock down few beers with friendly army lads at the local pub in the evening.

Wake up early after breakfast we start heading to Ngapali. Today we travel over the Rakhine Yoma mountain range to Ngapali beach. Passing on the dusty roads through farming lands. We will arrive to Ngapali late afternoon check into the hotel and get fresh. This evening, you could try delicious sea food in the local restaurant.

After breakfast at hotel we start riding to Taungoo. We’ll be passing a number of small remote villages. Doing some serious km’s today as we tackle some bumpy trails, gravel roads and shall be serve the lunch on the way at local restaurant. We will arriving into the Taungoo late afternoon.

Today we continue to Napyitaw, Myanmars young capital, established in 2005. One of the highlights here for drivers are the massive 20 lane highways that cut through the city. They tend to be eerily empty making for a perfect driving experience.

After breakfast at hotel we start riding up to further on to Pinlaung, which is the highest altitude town in Southern Shan State, well known for it’s tea and pears, as well as new emerging area for coffee plantations. Take a scenic mountainous road leading down to the lake valley, cross the bridge and continue another 1,5 hours ride to Nyaung Shwe town at the northern end of Inle Lake. Should we get to the switch motorcycles to boats and embark on a short trip over the lake to learn about Intha floating gardens, leg rowers, perhaps visit couple local craft shops. Evening is free for some walk around town.

Today before we head to Pindaya first we will explore the lake by boat. Marvel at floating farms, leg rowers and villages built on stilts. After the boat trip we back to the hotel grab the bags and have lunch at the local restaurant and rest for a while then, we ready to ride again to the Pindaya. Pindaya is known for its caves, and also as main agricultural hub, so there are plenty of small villages and Danu and Palaung communities. There is nice scenic road over mountain range. We will arrive late afternoon at Pindaya.

In the morning we ride out of town and take a shortcut that connects to the nice road with eucalyptus trees, it’s possible to make a quick detour to visit a blue pond hidden in the groves. Lunch stop in Ywangan and we can check out local coffee initiative, Genius Coffee that works closely with a community of Danu small growers. Shortly after leaving the town, road climbs up the mountain, and another 1,5 hours would be a serpentine ride which is partially under reconstruction, offering great view anyway. Once back in the lowlands, it’s just half an hour until we reach the old Yangon-Mandalay highway, from where it’s another 1,5 hours to Mandalay via Kyaukhse.
